Umi

As part of my self-initiated project, I created a fake perfume brand called Umi. Designing the brand from scratch, I wanted to incorporate my love for matcha and create a fresh matcha scent.

The logo

I started by designing the brand itself. Since I wanted to create a matcha scent, it was only right to choose a Japanese word. I went for the word Umi, which translates to ocean and is associated with water, fresh, and clean - just like the scent I wanted to create.

Why dots?
I changed the original lines in Umi to dots instead because I wanted to represent the wholeness of the brand - you're not just getting a part of it, you’re getting the whole package or experience - the best.
